Thank Goodness for Places Like Summerfield Holiday Park

I am a mother of four children ranging in age from 6 to 12. I've opened by stating that fact so you understand where I'm coming from with this article. I love my children dearly but as any parent knows, raising four of them so close in age is not an easy task. There are the discipline issues, their health and well-being, their education, and tons of other things that need to be considered in order to raise healthy, happy kids. It must be noted that none of these issues simply disappears during the summer holiday season. If anything, some of them are even magnified.

Thank goodness for places like Summerfield Holiday Parks, where our family spent last year's holidays, because they provide an experience for our children that we could not get in many other places. Family oriented holiday destinations provide accommodations and activities geared to helping families get the most from their holiday experience with as little stress as possible. And when you've got four children under the age of 12, keeping stress at a minimum is crucial. The last thing you need is for a handful of frustrated and irritable children ready to return home when it's only the second day.

When I was young my parents took our family to the countryside for holidays. We used to love to climb trees, ride bikes, and collect butterflies. But that was a different day and age. Today, children are so overly exposed to so many things that a countryside vacation seems like three weeks in hell for them. They are so used to mobile phones, streaming video, the Internet, portable music, and a multitude of other information age things, that getting them to unplug and enjoy the simplicity of nature is not easy. God bless you if you can manage this with your family; my husband and I simply can't.

If it weren't for family oriented places like Summerfield Holiday Park, we would probably spend our summer holidays at home. At least there the children could go about their daily routine and they'd be satisfied. It's funny; kids don't necessarily see the need to travel for the summer holidays. As long as they can communicate with their friends and have access to all of their possessions, they are happy. Holiday travel plans seem to be more about mum and dad getting away for a while and less about the kids. But, you can't leave them home...especially when they're young. So the next best thing is to find a destination which will keep your kids occupied while you still get some much-needed rest.

Thank goodness for places like Summerfield Holiday Park.
